Gloria Davy
Gloria Davy (born 1931, Brooklyn) is an African-American soprano. She was the first black artist to sing in Aida at the New York Metropolitan Opera on February 1958,[1] to a positive reception from the audience,[2] and providing a breakthrough to drawing attention to black classical singers. She performed there regularly for three years, including The Magic Flute, Pagliacci, and Il trovatore.[3]
